Peridot

Nicknamed "Emerald of the Evening" and "Gem of the Sun" peridots were brought back to Europe in the Middle Ages.

Most gemstones are mined in the Earth’s Crust, however peridots are formed in igneous or volcanic rocks, and are even found meteorites. Peridot is one of the few gemstones that comes exclusively in one colour.
