Aquamarine

Greek and Roman sailors took aquamarine amulets to keep them safe from treacherous currents and to prevent seasickness.

Aquamarine comes from Latin “aqua” and “mare “or seawater. A member of the Beryl family, the largest gem quality aquamarine crystal was found in Minas Gerais, Brazil, and weighed over 100,000 carats.
